India Smashed Pakistan at Eden Gardens, Kolkata

Yesterday night Eden gardens became lightened up with the real charm, as India defeated Pakistan and from here starts a new episode of Indian cricket. The match got delayed by half n hour due to bad weather and also it was played for 18 overs instead of 20 overs. Virat Kohli came out as the opening batsman and he was the one who changed the entire picture of the match. He was the unbeaten champion of yesterday’s match scoring 55 runs from 37 balls. India reached the target of 119 runs at 15.5 overs and finally snatched the victory from the Pakistan team. On the other hand, Yuvraj Singh scored 24 in 23 and M.S. Dhoni 13 in 9 in a partnership with Virat Kohli.

India celebrated the win for 6 wickets and it was a great day for the Indian team who defeated Pakistan for the first time at home ground. 118 by Pakistan seemed to be difficult to chase but the Indian team took the challenge and finally won the match showing their credits.

Kohli made a striking difference but after he lost the opener Rohit Sharma and then Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh rains he was in need of someone who can stay with him building up a good partnership. Yuvraj Singh was able to strengthen the partnership and the duo scored 66 runs from 44 balls that played a vital role for the match to win. This helped India to regain confidence and chasing the runs finally achieving the winning position. He chased a good 6 runs off Wahab Riaz but after he scored 24 off 23 he tried another big one leading to his catch out.

Finally, Dhoni came to the ground and his six that added a great score leading India to reach the target eradicating all the challenges. The role of the bowlers also cannot be ignored where Dhoni selected Ashis Nehra who scored 1 for 20, Ravinder Jadega also scored 1 for 20 and Jasprit Bumrah who scored 1 for 32. Despite of the Pakistan team’s 57 runs from 6 overs India managed to restrict their success at the final point.
