Xiaomi has finally announced that Xiaomi
Redmi Note 3 is going to be launched in India, thus putting an end to all the
rumors about Redmi Note 3 never being launched in India. On 13th January Xiaomi
released a teaser saying that it had "something wonderful" to share
on Thursday. This led to a lot of speculations.
The company released the news via Twitter
and Facebook but no specific date has been stated by the company. In a tweet it
said, " RT the awesome news that a new #Redmi Note 3 is coming. Be 1 of
100 Redmi Note 3 Explorer." The company has invited 100 Explorers for
Redmi Note 3 in India. They will get the chance of experiencing the Redmi Note
3 before it is launched.
" Redmi Note 3 Explorers will be
given a list of 100 missions to accomplish. Explorers will be ranked based on
the number of successful missions and support from other Mi fans. All Explorers
are required to return the phone after the challenge", says Xiaomi. The
explorers will win a Mi Band for every approved mission. Those who are
interested will have to register at the company's official India website within
31st January.
The company has promised to reveal more
information about the Redmi Note 3 launch in India after having chosen the 100
Explorers.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was unveiled to the
world in the month of November last year. The Xiami Redmi Note 3 came in two
variants: one with 16GB inbuilt memory and 2GB RAM and the other with 32GB
inbuilt memory and 3GB RAM. The 16GB model
was priced at approximately Rs. 9,500 and the 32GB model was priced at
approximately Rs. 11,500.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a full
metal body with a 5.5 inch full HD ( 1080p*1920 Pixels) Sunlight Display and is
said to be a "fully laminated display". It runs on Android 5.1.1
lollipop based MIUI v7.0 OS powered by
MediaTek Helio X10 Octa-Core processor. It is the first Mi phone with a
fingerprint sensor. It also has a fingerprint sensor at the back which the
company claims can unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds. The 4000 mAh battery
with fast charging support that can charge up to 50 percent in one hour is
another great feature of the handset. The company claims the phone to be
"very thin" and it measures 8.65 mm at its thickest point.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with a 13
megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and two-tone flash
and also a 5 megapixel front camera. The phone was launched in China in Silver,
Gold and Dark Grey colours.
Owing to a patent issue with Ericsson Xiaomi
has not been selling MediaTek chipset powered phones in India since December
2014. But a recent Qualcomm patent agreement might allow Xiaomi to sell
Smartphones based on MediaTek chipsets in India. Hence the company will not
replace the 64-bit Octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor ( Cortex-A53) with
which the phone was released in China for the Indian market.
