India clinches 1 run win over Bangladesh

In all probability, the India Bangladesh match as it was yesterday came down to running –the most primitive form of all sports that one can imagine. And there were two people out there who mattered the most as in to say who would run faster-the Indian Skipper Dhoni or the Mustafizur Rehman. At the beginning of the final over, Bangladesh needed 11 runs to seal the fate for India in T20. Two boundaries and one single was enough to call in premature celebrations which didn’t last very long as the cheeky scenario of making 2 runs off the last three balls was created. Both Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur hit the ball straight up in the air which was deemed as unnecessary and could have been played easily on the ground.

So, as mentioned in the beginning, players started to pump up their limbs as it came down to running to win the game. A match which was far sighted to be a one sided game had to rely on the last ball as Bangladesh needed two runs from one ball. For India a dot ball meant India would just stay in the competition. However, Mahendra Singh Dhoni managed to get the batman run out and India did win the game. However, this is if you actually call it winning would be a very tantalising proposition as India takes on Australia in the next game.

No matter what it looks like, the run out in the last ball could easily be deemed as the run out of the decade with Dhoni coming down as a bolt of lightning. He must have thought that the batsman would miss the ball and then go for a bye as he was already ready to collect the ball in his gloveless palm and hit the same at the wickets. Now, when Pandya bowled it short right outside the off stump and Shuvagata missed it, Dhoni was in the right position to collect it and then super sprinted right towards the wickets and have the ball hit the wickets. Yeah, in reality, Bangladesh did lost the match by just one run but if you take a closer look at it, it was the Indian skipper who made the difference by his sprinting and took down the last hope of Bangladesh in  mere centimetres.
