Brussels attacks Top developments

Once again, the world witnessed cruel terror attacks at Brussels Zaventem airport just few months after terrorist attacks at France. Although the international terrorist group ISIS has already took the responsibility of Brussels attack but still the officials are looking for some suspects who are supposed to be hiding in the Belgian capital.



Three deadly blasts in the morning rush hours on Tuesday shook the entire nation as well as the world. Two of them ripped apart the Zaventem airport while one blast occurs at the metro station near the capital. An all total of 31 casualties have been reported and over 270 people were injured in the series of blasts. Soon after the bombing took place, the ISIS voluntarily took the responsibility of such dreadful actions.



Just weeks before the bombing, which took place at Brussels, a suspected ISIS member was arrested who was believed to play an active role in Paris attack. Experts believe that the suicide bombings were an act of revenge against the local government. As per the Brussels officials, the attack was led by Ibrahim el-Bakraoui and his brother Khalid el-Bakraoui along with a third unknown accomplish who is still at large. The brothers who both had previous crime records died in suicide bombings at the airport and at metro station.



Police is looking for the third person whose image is captured by the CCTV camera by the side of both these brothers. Prime Minister Charles Michel of Belgian has shared his deepest condolences with the family members of the both who died or injured in the incident.

Latest top developments are:

1.      The bombing took place at around 8 am local time, which was around 3 am in Eastern hemisphere on Tuesday.
2.      According the Egyptian media Amak News Agency, follower of ISIS terrorist group, published the statement in which the organization (ISIS) claimed that the bombing was conducted by them.
3.      The bomb disposal team found a third bomb at the airport premises which was safely deactivated.
4.      The authorities have already issued a warrant against the third person whose image was captured in CCTV footage at the airport beside the two brothers who is still at large. The identity of the person is still not known to the officials but they are confident enough to grab hold of the culprit soon.
5.      Prime Minister Narendra Modi is supposed to visit Belgian as on 30th March, 2015 for the purpose of European Union summit. The Ministry of External Affairs has reportedly stated that there is change in the PM Modi's tour and he will visit the country as decided.
6.      The security has been tightened up throughout the country and combing operations are going on for further prevention from such attacks.
7.      The Zaventem airport will remain closed till Wednesday due to security reasons but soon the airport will be reopened for the passengers.
